How do I know if an Austin mover is legitimate?
Movers that move household goods within Texas must be registered with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Ask for their TxDMV number and look it up yourself, then check that the company name, address and phone match what they told you.
Should I go with the cheapest quote?
Not automatically. Compare quotes for the same inventory and services. A price far below everyone else's often grows on moving day, or comes from a company cutting corners on crew, equipment or insurance.
Do I need an in-home estimate?
For small, simple moves, a phone or video walkthrough is often enough. For larger homes, lots of furniture or tricky access, an in-home or video estimate makes the price more reliable.
